121st Commencement – Class of 2017

Meet the Graduates

Meet some of the outstanding students of Adelphi’s Class of 2017.

Muhammad Ali

Muhammad Ali, M.S. ’17, arrived in the U.S. with dreams of entrepreneurship and maybe even becoming CEO of Amazon. With a master’s in supply chain management, he’s on his way to making those dreams come true.

Laianna Wright

Laianna Wright ’17 came to Adelphi University to further her music studies. She found a close-knit and welcoming community that helped her realize her potential in many areas—from organizing musical ensembles to rallying political demonstrations to winning an oral presentation award in social sciences at the University’s 2017 Research Conference.

Emil Borzdynski

Emil Borzdynski ’17 combines his passion for science with compassion for others–qualities that will serve him well in his career in emergency medicine and in life.

Kip Jackson

Kip Jackson’s interest in history and career in track started in school. Now he hopes to return to the classroom—this time as a teacher and coach.

Pedro Izquierdo

Pedro Izquierdo ’17 has overcome more than the usual challenges in his college career. As a non-native English speaker with autism spectrum disorder, he faced and cleared added hurdles on the way to getting his degree in international studies. With his dedication and the personalized academic, social and vocational services he was offered through the Bridges to Adelphi program, Izquierdo is on his way to being an ambassador to the world.
