Lavender and Multicultural Graduation

You deserve to feel welcomed, honored and respected—and that is our goal at Adelphi.

Sponsored by the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, the Office of Alumni Relations and the Center for Student Involvement, this celebration recognizes Adelphi University’s underrepresented and LGBTQ+ graduating students.

What is Lavender Graduation?

A ceremony conducted on numerous campuses to honor lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and ally students and to acknowledge their achievements and contributions to Adelphi University.

Students who have applied and registered for graduation (Spring, Summer or Fall), and identify as being LGBTQ+ and Ally can participate.


What is Multicultural Graduation?

A ceremony that recognizes the academic achievements and contributions of underrepresented students at Adelphi University.

Students who have applied and registered for graduation (Spring, Summer or Fall) can participate.

This recognition ceremony is not intended to replace the official Commencement Ceremony.

Faculty, staff and administration who would like to attend the ceremony should contact the Office of Multicultural Affairs at multicultural@adelphi.edu.
